it me

heyyyy my name is stevie but you can call me steve if it pleases the court. I moved to the city in 2019 (yes… right before covid lol) and have been here ever since. and tbh this is a pic from when my hair was longer but wow I look fun

i joined co-directors rebecca ambrose (pictured above) and april evans for the first teacher training at the corner yoga studio in williamsburg in early 2023 and it rocked my freaking socks

after getting the hang of things for the first few years mostly teaching at the corner, I decided I was ready to keep learning and began my 300-hour training with ISHTA yoga (aka integrated science of hatha, tantra and ayurveda) in 2024 and completed the training in early 2026

i have additional training in yin yoga, yoga nidra, and trauma-informed somatic practices. i especially enjoy offering hands-on adjustments :)

I care a lot about making asana (physical postures) feel available to all bodies, ages, abilities, curiosities, energy levels, and ayurvedic constitutions. I encourage students to greet their body by feeling sensation moment to moment, breath my breath, day by day.

i put a lot of time into curating playlists and well-rounded sequences that will hopefully leave my students feeling like they have more space inside for their true self when they roll up their mat at the end of practice.

if I’m not on my mat, I’m probably working at my lovely hospitality job at fedora in the west village or watching bad television at home.

I also do some freelance event production — I’m always looking for ways to bring people together and hang out. hanging out + chilling = my passion. I also care about important things like the environment and human rights (I went to bard)

I happen to love tacos, my cat named toaster, taking trips that I can’t technically afford, taking pictures of everything, collecting henry miller books that I almost never actually read because I prefer AFAB authors but I love him too, and rotflmao

this is me as a wee lad. my ballet career was as brief as my karate one but you can see how it translates

you may also know me (more formally) as steveboobjobs. see: steveboobjobs.com for my alter (less professional) ego. it is who i am as a zillenial product of myspace + msn messenger

in the age of the attention economy, yoga is a radical form of resistance, self-love, and anti-capitalism

in-studio classes can be expensive so if money is a big obstacle to your mat, i always have guest passes available — just hmu!!

lots of studios have community-priced classes and work-study opportunities too, just ask
